Senior IT Network & Systems Administrator

The main scope of the role is to be responsible for maintaining and eventually developing a healthy network infrastructure of networks, servers, and services whilst helping with rollouts for business-critical network infrastructure, products, and services.

Tasks

• Responsible for maintenance and availability of datacentres, network, servers, and services
• Develop and deploy performance-enhancing measures throughout the network
• Strong understanding of infrastructure as code concepts as well as scripting and automation
• Ensure the integrity and security of data in accordance with best practices and business requirements for regulatory, security, and privacy compliance
• Produce and maintain documentation for IT procedures
• Outstanding experience in Microsoft environments and Linux systems
• Strong listening skills and the ability to quickly understand needs and requests
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills
• Work continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)
• Prioritize and manage open tasks
• Good written and verbal English
• Provide, as part of a Rota, on-call production support for IT Operations
• The weekly working time will be 40 hours.

The candidate would need to have either experience within the Senior IT field or a bachelors' degree/or similar qualification in an IT-related subject.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years' experience in IT Network and Systems
• Firewalls/Routers configuration (Juniper SRX, Cisco ASR)
• Understanding of dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, RIP)
• Network infrastructure design and delivery (Juniper QFX, MC-LAG, 100GbE, HA, SmartFabric)
• Load balancers architecture and configuration F5 appliances, as well as LBaas (Octavia, F5 integrations with OpenStack, OpenShift platforms)
• Microsoft Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019 (DC, Exchange, Failover clusters, MPIO)
• Knowledge of Linux systems, Redhat/CentOS, Oracle and Debian (RAC, Cloud-init, multipath)
• Experience with different virtualisation platforms (OpenStack 16.2, OpenShift 4.9, VMware 6.x)
• Different cloud platforms and payloads (GCP, AWS, Azure)
• Storage area networks (Brocade, ISL) and storage systems (StorageCenter, PowerStore)
• Backup strategies and concepts (Commvault, replication)
• Server hardware (Dell, IBM/Lenovo)
