Job Title: Sr. Production Support/ DevOps Engineer
Location : Remote
Must Haves:
5+ years of DevOps / Production Support
5+ years of Node, Spring Boot, Java, JBoss, Angular, or React
Experience working in Production Support: being able to conduct root cause analysis on bugs, go into code logs, and reproduce errors
Experience developing applications
Responsibilities:
This candidate will be working on a production support team and working on user bugs and tickets. This a Java and NodeJS platform where engineers will be reviewing errors, code logs, and working to reproduce errors before sending to development teams as bugs. For example; if a customer is looking for their prescription history on the CVS website and it is not displaying correctly or not displaying at all. This individual will log in as the user, and try to understand why that information is not displaying as it should. They will work to reproduce that error, review code logs and look for code errors. If they are able to reproduce and prove it is a bug within the code, they will then send that error to the development team.
The 3 main things we are looking for are:
- Cloud Hosting experience within GCP (other is okay, AWS, Azure, etc. GCP is preference)
- Instrumentation experience with platforms such as AppDynamics, Dynatrace, or DataDog in DevOps environment
- Spring Boot or Node or Java or JBoss or Angular or React; they need to be proficient in 2 or more of those combinations
Questions for recruiters:
- Tell me about the last time you had to perform root cause analysis? What was what the issue? What was the short term solution? What was the long term solution?
- Which of the languages listed above languages are your top three? Who would you rank yourself on a scale of 1-10 with those top three?
Here is a more details Day to Day:
Support engineers responsible for managing application on variety of platforms; back end end engineers GCP Kafka, knowledge of DB, cloud solution
Front end: Oracle Node and GCP and cloud solutions
Fine tuning, triaging and solving problems instrsutramentaion layer
If they know splunk and App D is big plus; data dog is +
Application stop running, not working correctly - car mechanic
Ability to go in to log and triage, they should be able to recognize the problem and identify the cause of problem, what are the short term and long term solutions and fixes
Lower environment or a test environment; proactive identification of issues - support engineers, code issues network issues
Job titles: Devops, SRE, Support Engineer, Assurance Engineer, etc. infra engineer, platform engineer
What were you doing? Should be able to explain what they do
Open to both development or infra route; should be able to trouble shoot
Cloud hosting: GCP, AWS, Azure at least 1
Know instrumentation part; how to identify a problem, monitoring solutions (dynatrace, someone else will set up monitoring - Application performance management - Log reading, application reading
Strong in one area, Spring Boot and Node Java and Jboss - not creating but using monolith or microservice
