ABOUT THE TEAM

Internal Audit is an independent function that supports Trade Republic in achieving its strategic, operational, financial and compliance objectives. The mission of Internal Audit is to enhance and protect Trade Republic s value and success by providing risk-based and objective assurance, advice and insight. We do this by assessing key processes as well as governance, risk management and the control environment within all business teams and functions. We report directly to the Management Body of Trade Republic.

WHAT YOU LL BE DOING

• Plan and lead audits or work as a team member on reviews and audits
• Identify and evaluate the effectiveness of controls designed to address those risks
• Analyze and assess risks in Banking and Operations processes as well as related Compliance 2nd line of defense controls and contribute the risk assessment and to the setup of the audit plan
• Monitor the regulatory environment and derive need for action for Trade Republic s Internal Audit function
• Develop state-of-the art work programs for audit engagements, focus on banking & regulatory affairs
• Prepare and or review reports of audit findings for Trade Republic management, develop suitable actions/recommendations to findings identified
• Follow up of findings raised in previous audits or by external/regulatory auditors to assess whether these have been successfully remediated
• Develop and maintain relationships with Senior Management
• Successfully collaborate within Trade Republic s Internal Audit team
• Act as an advisor and expert on Banking topics within the Internal Audit team
• Contact person also for external auditors and authorities in all arising questions of relevant regulatory topics

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Minimum of 7 years of management experience in internal or external audit within the financial industry
• Ability and curiosity to work in an agile, fast-changing Tech company with a diverse and dynamic team setup and state-of-the-art communication tools
• In-depth knowledge of German financial regulations applying to banks and financial institutions, e.g. particular MaRisk, WpHG, KWG/WpIG as well as experience and interest in financial products and innovative technology. Knowledge of European Banking regulations is a plus
• Structured and independent way of working, a very good understanding of processes and expertise in process analysis and description while thinking out of the box
• Problem-solving and driving change by using innovative solutions is as natural to you as paying attention to every detail
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in German and English, ease to communicate with stakeholders, both internally and externally
