Job Description

100% remote. EST hours/preferred. 3 month contract, 6 months MAX.

Off shroe resources ok.

Sr level Programmer to update MRP parameters, recreate SQL code in Python or other languages and ensure code is clean and maintainable, translate unknown SAP logic (ABAP). Will work with Front End and Data Science teams.

As an Oracle Programmer and Code Rebuild Specialist with SAP Integration, your key responsibility will be to lead the rebuilding and modernization efforts of legacy code running on Oracle databases while ensuring seamless integration with SAP systems. You will play a crucial role in assessing the existing codebase, proposing architectural enhancements, and optimizing Oracle-based applications for improved performance and compatibility with newer Oracle Database versions. Additionally, you will collaborate with SAP specialists to facilitate accurate data upload and synchronization between Oracle and SAP systems, supporting critical business processes.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assess and understand the existing legacy codebase built on Oracle databases, identifying areas for improvement and code modernization.
2. Collaborate with the development team, SAP specialists, and business analysts to define integration requirements and ensure data accuracy between Oracle and SAP systems.
3. Propose and implement architectural changes and database schema enhancements to optimize the code for seamless SAP integration.
4. Refactor and optimize existing Oracle PL/SQL code, ensuring efficient data handling during interactions with SAP systems.
5. Design and develop data synchronization mechanisms to maintain data consistency between Oracle and SAP platforms.
6. Oversee the migration of data and functionalities from legacy applications to new solutions with SAP integration.
7. Conduct thorough testing and debugging of rebuilt code to validate accurate data upload and synchronization with SAP systems.
8. Implement performance tuning techniques to enhance the responsiveness of integrated Oracle-SAP applications.
9. Work closely with SAP specialists to troubleshoot integration issues and ensure seamless data flow between systems.
10. Document technical decisions, integration processes, and enhancements for future reference and knowledge sharing.
11. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers involved in the rebuilding process and SAP integration.
12. Stay updated with the latest Oracle database technologies, SAP integration tools, and best practices to drive innovation in the code rebuilding process.
13. Coordinate with stakeholders and team members to ensure successful integration of Oracle and SAP systems.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven work experience as an Oracle Programmer or Oracle Database Developer with expertise in code rebuilding and SAP integration.
- Extensive experience working with legacy Oracle PL/SQL code and database structures.
- Strong understanding of Oracle Database versions 11g, 12c, and higher.
- In-depth knowledge of SAP integration techniques and tools, including SAP Data Services, SAP PI/PO, or RFC connections.
- Proficiency in performance tuning, query optimization, and database refactoring techniques for SAP integration scenarios.
- Solid understanding of database design principles and best practices.
- Ability to analyze complex legacy code and propose architectural improvements for SAP integration.

- Familiarity with software development methodologies and version control systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Oracle certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Associate, Oracle Certified Professional) are advantageous but not mandatory.
- Previous experience with SAP modules and processes relevant to the organization's business domain is a plus.
