Category Manager

Category Strategy Development

• Develop and implement a comprehensive Lighting category strategy, considering market trends, competitive landscape, and customer preferences.
• Conduct regular market research to identify new opportunities, emerging technologies, and potential risks, adjusting the strategy accordingly.
• Collaborate with the executive team to align the Lighting category strategy with the overall business objectives of Abyat.

Product Assortment Management

• Curate and manage a diverse and innovative product assortment within the Lighting category, ensuring a balance of high-quality and cost-effective products.
• Conduct regular product reviews and analysis to identify top-performing products, slow movers, and gaps in the assortment, taking corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to introduce new and exclusive products, staying ahead of market trends.

Financial Analysis and Pricing

• Monitor the financial performance of the Lighting category, analyzing sales data, margins, and profitability to make informed decisions.
• Develop and implement pricing strategies to maximize revenue, considering market dynamics, competitor pricing, and customer sensitivity.
• Regularly review and adjust pricing structures based on market changes, cost fluctuations, and strategic objectives.

Collaborative Initiatives

• Work closely with the marketing team to plan and execute promotions, campaigns, and other marketing initiatives to increase category awareness and drive sales.
• Collaborate with sales teams to ensure effective communication of product features, benefits, and promotions, providing necessary training and support.
• Engage with the operations team to optimize inventory levels, minimize stockouts, and reduce excess or obsolete inventory within the Lighting category.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, management, electrical/industrial engineering
• MBA/master's degree is a plus.
• Proven experience of 5 years as a Category Manager or in a similar role within the Lighting industry.
• In-depth knowledge of lighting products, trends, and technologies.
