What you will be doing:

• Create and foster a safety culture that is both preventative and proactive.
• Ensure that our Rockford/Lancaster facilities comply with all applicable environmental health and safety regulations.
• Provide fulltime Environmental Health and Safety support to operations.
• Coordinate regulatory programs and permitting applications.
• Support the development and coordination of training programs aligned with our philosophy.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with employees operations managers and supervisors.
• Participate in manufacturing meetings to discuss workplace safety hazard elimination and regulatory concerns.
• Provide all OSHA compliance training create distribute and monitor all toolbox training.
• Develop safety procedures processes and programs for all departments at both locations.
• Maintain all EHS training records.
• Develop and establish a regular audit schedule for environmental and safety issues.
• Work with our environmental provider TRC.
• Distribute reports and filings prepared by TRC to the proper governmental agencies when due.
• Maintain EPA records of hazardous waste air emission permitting and water pollution discharge.
• Manage the maintenance and implementation of safety standards compliance plans and initiatives.
• Participate in the investigation of near misses accidents and property damage incidents.
• Ensure followup and corrective actions are completed to minimize future exposure.
• Maintain proper records and documents for all incidents and accidents.
• Lead the Safety team and work closely with the ERGO team.
• Serve as the primary contact for all regulatory agencies for inspections permitting and reporting.

Experience you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety or related field in a manufacturing environment.
• Membership in organizations such as NASP NESHTA ASSE or BCSP is a plus.
