The HR Generalist is essential in supporting the organizations HR functions ensuring compliance with local employment laws and fostering a positive workplace environment. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of HR practices including recruitment employee relations performance management and benefits administration with a focus on alignment with Singaporean regulations and workplace culture.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate onboarding to ensure new hires are smoothly integrated and familiar with company policies and culture.
- Serve as the primary contact for employee inquiries offering guidance on company policies and Singaporean labor laws.
- Drive employee engagement and satisfaction through various initiatives including teambuilding activities.
- Assist in implementing and managing performance appraisal processes.
- Support managers in handling performance issues and developing Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).
- Monitor and evaluate employee performance providing feedback and coaching as necessary.
- Administer employee benefits programs including CPF contributions health insurance and other statutory benefits.
- Ensure compliance with Singapores employment regulations such as the Employment Act and related legislation.
- Address employee benefits inquiries and manage the annual benefits review process.
- Ensure HR policies comply with Singaporean labour laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate employee records including work passes for foreign employees.
- Assist with government audits and maintain confidentiality of employee information.
- Assist in developing reviewing and implementing HR policies and procedures in line with Singaporean laws.
- Regularly update policies to reflect changes in regulations and best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field.
- 25 years of HR experience ideally as an HR Generalist in Singapore.
- Strong knowledge of Singaporean labor laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to work independently.
- HR certification (e.g. SHRMCP CIPD) is a plus.
