Job Description

Job Summary:

The company a global leader in aerospace manufacturing is seeking a detailoriented and motivated Tool & Die Maker Level 1 to join our team in Gardena CA. This entrylevel position involves assisting in the fabrication maintenance and repair of tools dies and other precision components used in the aerospace manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will have a mechanical aptitude basic experience with machine tools and a strong desire to learn and grow in the trade.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the setup and operation of various machine tools such as lathes mills and grinders to fabricate repair and maintain dies tools and other precision parts.
  • Follow blueprints technical drawings and engineering specifications to produce and modify tooling components.
  • Inspect finished tools and dies to ensure they meet precise dimensional and quality requirements using precision measurement instruments like micrometers calipers and gauges.
  • Perform routine maintenance on tools and dies including sharpening polishing and repairing worn or damaged parts.
  • Support senior tool and die makers in setting up machines troubleshooting and problemsolving during tool manufacturing and repair processes.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area ensuring that tools machines and materials are stored properly and that safety protocols are followed.
  • Work closely with the production and engineering teams to ensure tools and dies are produced or repaired to meet production schedules and quality standards.
  • Participate in continuous learning and development initiatives to improve tool and diemaking skills and advance within the role.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic mechanical skills and familiarity with machining operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints technical drawings and work instructions.
  • Proficient in using measurement tools such as micrometers calipers and gauges.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Willingness to learn and develop skills in tool and die making.
  • Ability to lift and handle heavy materials stand for extended periods and work in a physically demanding environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in tool and die making or a related machining role.
  • Basic knowledge of CNC or manual machine tool operation.
  • Formal technical or vocational training in tool and die making or machining.

Work Environment:

  • Fulltime position in a manufacturing setting.
  • Exposure to machinery noise and metalworking equipment.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required.
